The debut of Georgia Quilt Show was welcomed with wide-open arms by quilters from Georgia and surrounding states alike. Students immersed themselves in classes taught by nationally known teachers and spent countless hours combing the vendor mall for the newest fabrics and latest in quilting tools and techniques. The diversity of pieces entered in the quilt competition quickly became the focal point of Georgia Quilt Show. NQA Judges Linda McCuean and Holice Turnbow were on hand for judging, and awarded cash prizes of over $4,000 in six categories. They selected their personal favorites, which received Judge’s Choice awards. Area guilds and members of the Georgia Quilt Council are to be commended for their assistance in judging, hanging the quilts, hostessing and repacking the quilts for return shipping. It takes many hands working in concert to assemble a Premier event – in Georgia Quilt Show we’ve found a recipe for success!
