Running October 16, 17 & 18, 2008 at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia (home to Original Sewing & Quilt Expo for the past 10 years), Georgia Quilt Show has been crafted to showcase the “best of the best” in quilt making. It will bring quilt makers the expanded quantity, variety and depth they have been asking for into classrooms, the exhibit hall and quilt galleries.

Georgia Quilt Show will feature classes and workshops with leading quilt educators along with a celebrity evening with keynote speaker Marianne Fons of Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting. In this entertaining and informative slide lecture, Why We Quilt, Marianne examines the motivations of American quilters from 1776 to the present day.

Unique displays of traditional and contemporary quilt making will be prominently featured inside the Exhibit Hall, along with a vendor mall dedicated to quilting.

An active partnership has been formed between Georgia Quilt Show and the non-profit Georgia Quilt Council. Work continues with this organization and area guilds to help further efforts to fund the Georgia Quilt Museum.
